History
Started in 1954 in southwest Michigan at the Cork Lane shopping center; we were known as Lee's Toys and Hobbies. That changed as the product mix became more outdoor sports gear and we became Lee's Sports and Sportswear. We moved to the Kilgore Road location and slowly the outdoor sports gear product mix became more and more outdoor and winter sports oriented and Lee's Adventure Sports emerged.
Why Buy Local
Customer Service
An old-school idea that has never gone out of style. The staff & management at Lee's Adventure Sports pride ourselves on exceptional knowledge of all our products. We'll help you deal with warranty issues, returns and exchanges. We have a Boot-Fit Guarantee and installation for Yakima Rack purchases. Plus we provide kayaking lessons, ski and snowshoe rentals, along with our satisfaction-guaranteed ski shop services.
Creating Community Jobs & Income
During rough economic times, we can all do our small part by supporting products made local or in-the-USA. Lee's Adventure Sports has been involved in building an active, healthy community for two generations.
"But I can get it cheaper online"
There are two main reasons to watch out for purchasing big brand-names over the internet.
1. The counterfeit market is one of the biggest industries in the world. You have no guarantee that North Face Denali you just won on Ebay is the real deal.
2. Not always are you paying less. After tax and shipping, your total adds up to the same--and sometimes more--than if you'd have purchased from a store.
Avoid counterfeit hassles: check to make sure you're buying from a licensed dealer.
